It is a privilege to offer home author visits for individual and small groups of children. Children are often very excited by the fact that a real life author is coming to their home! It is a wonderful way to enthuse with children about reading, writing and illustration in a smaller setting and give them far more input than is possible within a class of thirty. Children that are home-schooled or have special educational needs particularly benefit from these events. I can cater for a wide age range from pre-school through the primary ages. I am DBS checked.

Fun and interactive sessions
I love making the author visits as fun and memorable for the children as possible. I care deeply about children being motivated to read, write, illustrate and create in numerous ways.
In a recent visit the children were so inspired by Pop and Top’s bubble story that they wanted to create their own Bubble Island! They also produced some beautiful art work and even a song for Pop and Top. Take a look in The Rhymers Gallery for examples of their work.
I leave each family with a set of free resources that the children can continue to interact and create with. Example sheets from one of these packs can be seen below. I have resources suitable for preschool children right through to upper primary.
Work displayed in The Rhymers Gallery
It is wonderful to see the huge variety of things that children create and a flavour of this can be seen in The Rhymers Gallery. The children love that their work can be seen on my Rhymers website, enhancing their motivation and the sense that their efforts are valued.
Further visits and home tuition
If your child has been particularly inspired by my author visit I offer follow up visits or regular home tuition sessions to build on this creativity further. Email email@example.com directly or fill out the form below to discuss this further.
